A Cleaning Business Owner’s Perspective: More Than Just a Cleaner

When I first started this business, I was working 60 hours a week in employment. Long shifts, little time for myself, and constantly feeling like something was missing. I think I just hit that point where I knew—something had to change. But going back into another job? That wasn’t the answer for me. I needed more. I wanted to build something of my own.
And now, just 8 months later, I’ve built a business—with a team. That still feels surreal to say. It hasn’t been easy. In fact, it’s been one of the toughest things I’ve ever done. People often just see me turning up to clean and think “oh, it’s just the cleaner”—but what they don’t see is the work that goes on behind the scenes.
More Than a Mop and Bucket
Running a cleaning business is so much more than wiping surfaces and emptying bins. Most of my time is spent building systems, doing admin, problem-solving, marketing, onboarding new staff, and ensuring our brand stays consistent. When people hire us, they’re not just hiring a cleaner—they’re putting their trust in a business that I’ve worked tirelessly to build.
I’m not just a cleaner going about my day—I’m a business owner, and I take that responsibility seriously. Every single day, I show up to grow this business not just for myself, but for my team and for the clients who count on us.
Systems Create Safety—for Us and for You
If there’s one thing I’ve learnt on this journey, it’s that systems are everything. I love systems. They create structure, they create consistency, and most importantly—they create trust.
Our clients love knowing exactly what to expect. They don’t want surprises. They want to know that every visit will be just as good as the last. And we deliver that, through the systems and processes I’ve built into the business. From how we onboard clients to how we train new team members, everything is done with care and consistency.
We don’t just throw someone into your home and hope for the best. When a new team member joins us, they are introduced to our clients before they ever clean alone. We want you to feel safe, at ease, and confident in who’s walking through your door.
It’s Not Just a Business—It’s a Brand
We’re not trying to be like anyone else. In fact, we don’t even look at what the competition is doing. That’s not where our energy goes. We’re in our own lane. We know what our clients want—and that’s quality.
It’s not about being the cheapest or shouting the loudest. It’s about showing up, every single time, and going above and beyond what’s expected. That’s why we don’t just wear any old uniform—we show up in our signature pink t-shirts, with a smile, ready to make a difference.
More Than Just Cleaning
For me, this isn’t just about growing a cleaning company. It’s about creating a brand that stands for trust, consistency, and real care. We’re building something that has a lasting impact.
Yes, times can be tough. Yes, it’s exhausting wearing all the hats—from cleaner to admin to marketing to HR. But when I look at how far this has come in just 8 months, I know I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.
We don’t just clean homes. We create peace of mind. We bring calm to chaos. And we always, always show up with intention.
Thank you to every client who’s trusted us, to every team member who’s believed in the vision, and to anyone out there wondering if they can make the leap—you can.
We’re not here to compete. We’re here to lead, in our own way. Because this is more than just cleaning—this is a mission.
